This Mexican Fire Opal ring is such a gorgeous statement collectors piece!
High dome profile with veins of red/green fire and pockets of glowing orange jelly goodness. Simple and elegant ring setting with a fine silver bezel and hammered textured ring band.
Ring is sized right around a 7 1/2 and has a slight tapered band from 7mm wide to 5mm at base. Stone is an all natural Mexican Fire Opal with a great jelly appearance mixed in with host rock. Stone is an irregular teardrop shape and measures 3/8” tall, 7/8” by 3/4” at widest sides.
Patina is added for definition in hammered details on band and then cleaned up with a moderate high polish for shine.
Due to the natural softer nature of opals plus this beauties height, for an heirloom lasting presence, it would be best suited for gentle daily wear or for dressing up occasions. When not being worn, I suggest being stored in a jewelry box where it isn’t touching other pieces to prevent scratches or damage. You can also store in a ziplock style bag to prevent scratches and extra oxidation of silver.
